Modifications and Enhancements to BlockSim 6
The modifications/enhancements for each service release are described next. This information is also available in the ReadMe file that is installed with the software. The most recent service release (build) contains all previous modifications.

Build 6.5.5
Modifications

  • Resolved an issue with simulating a diagram that contained a large number of blocks connected in series.
  • Resolved an issue with displaying simulation results when a diagram contains a large number of blocks.

Build 6.5.4
Modifications

  • Resolved issue when pasting regular blocks to a stand-by or load-sharing container. These blocks were carrying their restoration factor even though any stand-by or load-sharing blocks cannot have restoration factors.
  • Altered the way pool ordering is performed. In previous versions, if requested parts would not arrive before the end time of a simulation, they were not ordered or charged. Parts are now ordered and dispensed, and costs incurred by both the pool and the block, regardless of whether a part will be available before the end of a simulation.
  • Resolved issue introduced in service release 6.5.3 associated with scheduled restocks in pools not being scheduled properly when running multiple simulations.

Build 6.5.3
Modifications

  • Added alphabetical/categorized view when selecting columns in the Item Properties table.

  • Enhanced the analysis engine.

Build 6.2.4

Build 6.2.3
Modifications

  • Resolved an intermittent issue associated with analyzing certain diagrams.

  • Resolved the issue in the System Reliability Equation window with equations not rendering properly under some versions of Korean Windows.

Build 6.0.6
Modifications

  • Corrected an issue with the Load Sharing Parameter Experimenter utility. The issue occurred when the IPL model was selected in this utility. The n value returned was inconsistent with the n as defined in ALTA, ReliaSoft's Accelerated Life Testing Analysis software.
  • Added a font selection option in the System Reliability Equation window to resolve issues with equations not rendering properly under some foreign versions of Windows (issue discovered under some versions of Korean windows).

  • Modified validation rules for pool max capacity. Prior validation was that max capacity had to be larger than the initial capacity plus restock quantity. New validation rules require that max capacity be equal or greater than the initial restock.
  • Modified simulation logic for group items receiving maintenance actions upon a group item action. Both inspections and PM for group items are now triggered upon any maintenance action (excluding inspections) on any group item.
  • Updated the on-line help file.

Build 6.0.5
Modifications

  • Increased the flexibility when reading an XML file. The Diagram and Resource IDs will now be any number between 1 and 2047.
